David Lanz and Christian Housel Concert in Boise Idaho

Hi there:

What a great concert last weekend (October 21st) here is Boise with David Lanz and world flautist Gary Stroutsos.  The concert was held at the beautiful Cathedral of the Rockies in the historic northend of Boise.  I had such a great time with David and Gary.  It was kind of interesting both promoting and playing the concert.  About 200 folks came to the concert to enjoy a wonderful evening.

I opened the evening with a five song set including mostly songs from my recent album "After the Rain".  During three of my songs, my former band Ruberry Jam joined me on stage.  They added sounds of bass, acoutic guitar, and light percussion added much to the performance.

David Lanz came out at about 7:30 and opened with a beautiful improvisation that just blew everone's mind.  David followed up with the familiar "Heartsounds" and a couple of others.  Gary then joined David on stage and played from their latest C.D. "Spirit Romance" released on the Narada Label.  At one point after the song Serenada, the audience was completely silent almost stunned by the beauty of it.  It was a very cool moment.  IMO, David's best song of the night was "A whiter shade of Pale".  Wow could you feel the emotion on that one.  Gary played various flutes throughout the night, wowing the croud with his ethereal sounds.

After the intermission, David played much of his familiar work, but did add a new tune entitled "Rain Dancer" that hasn't been recorded yet.  How great was that!  Wow!  After twenty plus albums, David keeps it going.  After a curtain call, David ended the show with "Christofori's Dream" of course.

Another great show with David!
