Bob Dahl - Nordstrom pianist says farewell to a great gig

Hey all.  I remember back in 1995 I was hired by Nordstrom as a pianist and thought it was just seasonal...I was ecstatic!  I've wanted to be a Nordstrom pianist since about 1993.  I was a "sub" pianist in a sense, for 10 years.  Various stores would contact me to fill in on certain days, if a pianist was ill, or on vacation, etc.  I would say YES...love to!

For the past couple of years I was the regular, five day a week pianist (and still am until Dec 31st 2007).  I was elated and thrilled to have this steady gig. Sadly enough, Nordstrom will be cancelling the live piano program beginning in 2008.  I have only fond memories of all the years I've performed for Nordstrom.  I will truly miss this job.

As a final note, it is my challenge to any other retail store out there to hire a live pianist.  I am the perfect choice for such a position.  I am passionate about what I do.  Nordstrom had pianists on their payroll for over 20 years!  What an awesome thing!

Sincerely,
Bob Dahl
